Author R.L. Blalock brings us the next adventure for Laurie and Kuna as they are tasked by the commanders of the new colony to create more bonded pairs like themselves. This book picks up right after the last one ends and Laurie is at the commanders meeting where let's face it the face of humanity is revealed. Some of the commanders are happy to have the help and others aren't only because they are on an alien planet and still call the native lifeforms aliens. Laurie and the head commander ask for volunteers to create more bonded and they get six people who want to change their life. They then head out into the middle of the woods and find a one of the locals who attacks them and kills one of the volunteers. That is only the beginning of this leg of their mission. I highly recommend this series to all science fiction fans and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
