Author R.L. Blalock brings us the last adventure for the crew of the Endurance their bonded partners. As the book opens Commander Hale who has been pulling the strings of hate behind the scenes finally makes her presence known to the colonists. She calls upon those who fear the bonded to rise up and kill everyone who don't view the bonded as a threat. Laurie and Commander Nash stand against the blood bath as they save what little there is left of humanity. But in doing so Laurie is hit with a blast from Hale's mech which takes her entire left side. This is a great novella and I'm looking forward to what sounds will be next in this universe. I highly recommend this novella to all science fiction fans.
