Author R.L. Blalock brings us the fourth adventure for Laurie and her bonded brothers and sisters. Laurie and Commander Nash becomes close causing Nash to order Laurie to return to the wildness of the new planet. Laurie knows that Nash has strong feelings for her and wants to protect the bonded. While this is going on we finally meet the person who has been puling the strings of the anti-alien movement among the colonists. Caroline who is a commander herself uses the one man that she can control to put fear and doubt about the bonded into works while making sure that the bonded are framed for a murder that they didn't commit. While out in the wild Laurie and the bonded come across the remains of a civilization that had been there long before they crashed. But time is of the essence and they have to bring an egg back to the Endurance. This is a great novella and I am looking forward to the last book in the series. I highly recommend this series to all science fiction fans.
