Author M.D. Cooper brings us the tale of how Jessica and Sara make the ISF's first foothold into the inner core worlds with an attack on the star that they had first stopped at after leaving the Sol system. Jessica asks Tangel to come along as a human probe knowing that there might be core AI's there and she was right. After they jumped into the planet. Tangel, Jessica and Sara head out to find out what's going on. As this is going on Trever takes their ship out of the cavern and into orbit. Thinking that their stealth tech works they walk passed some people on the lower levels but when one shoots Jessica they know that they've been had. Tangel then takes and uses the molecules of the surrounding area to make sure that the caretaker AI's don't get the upper hand while Jessica and Sara use their shadow trons (A device that can strip a caretaker AI from its human host) They then make it to the surface to find out that the local fleet has surrendered. This is a great novella and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book to all science fiction fans.
