Author M.D. Cooper brings us the tale in her Empire trilogy as Diana and Petra fight off against those who would turn against the Empire. As the story beings the Empresses's flagship the Karl's Might is being upgraded with new shield generators to make her an unstoppable force while in the thick of battle. As this is going on Diana's old AI Tenna has been brought back to life and given a skin suit if you will to make her blend in with the Empresses's royal court. Then came the attack planning which Petra was in charge of which system of their enemies to hit. Again while this is going on there is a feeling between both Diana and Petra that they have a traitor among them. After their first battle in the system that they both decided on but didn't tell their High Admiral about ended Petra deiced to take an assault shuttle down to one of the asteroids in order to find one of her operatives. As the shuttle returns she isn't on it and most of the troopers who went with her were dropped off on other ships in the battle fleet. This is a great novel and highly recommend it to all science fiction fans and I'm looking forward to reading the last book in the trilogy.
