Author J.S. Burke brings us the opening to a trilogy about Dragons and their culture and the Octopus' that inhabit the sea close to the Dragons shore. Arak a gold dragon is young and head strong and takes off in the middle of winter to go find copper for the clan. The Dragons need copper in order to survive and on his first solo mission out Arak crashes. But he isn't alone for long for the Octopi Scree comes to his rescue and they form a friendship as well as learn each other's language. . I highly recommend this book to all Dragon lovers and fantasy fans.
