Author JMD Reid brings us the short tale of Captain Charley captain of the vessel Varele. Charley and her first mate have gone ashore to get some cargo that they could smuggle and make some cash for. But as soon as their negotiations are done the Luastrian smugglers chase them through the sea side city. Eventually they reach their way boat and head back to the ship. This short story reminds me of the opening to the second pirates of the Caribbean film. But regardless this is a great short story and you quickly get to know Captain Charley and her first mate. I highly recommend this short story.
