Author Carrie Vaughn brings us the short tale of Graff a fighter pilot for a ship out in the depth of space. When his fighter is destroyed and he is taken back to the ships sickbay they open him up and find out that he isn't at all human. Yes he was born like normal humans but he is more than that. He is part of a group of cyborgs that go out into the universe to find the stories that will live on for ever among his people. In that way he and his people are like librarians for all the knowledge that the universe has to offer. And his command officer let's his broken body send a distress signal to another one of his kind who comes and makes sure that he is on the mend. This is a great short story and Carrie has knocked it out of the park again. I highly recommend this short story for all science fiction fans.
