Authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson bring us back to the Dune Universe with this collection of 4 novellas. The first story is about Mapes the house keeper and how she loved a Freman warrior and lost him. She also had a son by him. This backstory on Mapes shows us more than the little that we see of the character in the original novel, & films. The second story is the Blood of the Sardaukar of which I've already written about in the Tales of Arrikeen. While the third is the Waters of Kanly, again I've already written about that in it's own review. The last story takes place after the Schools of Dune trilogy and deals with the death of Emperor Rodrick Corrino and his son taking the golden thrown. His on is looking for a chamberlain and the representative from both House Atredies and House Harkonnen are fighting for the job. But it is the Harkonnen who planet decent. This is a great collection and I highly recommend it to all Dune fans.
