Author Mary Shelley brings us the first novel in two genera's the first is Modern Horror and the second is Science Fiction. As the story opens we find out that Victor Frankenstein has been on a ship that had rescued him from the frozen tundra. The Captain of that vessel takes him aboard a listens as Frankenstein tells his story about how he brought his creature to life and thanks to the narrator you hear in Frankenstein's voice that he regrets doing so and turns his own creation into his own villain. This is something that he never thought of especially when he ran out on his creation. The Creature needed to be nurtured but that didn't happen until he came into contact with the old bind man and the people living in the cottage a little bit away from him. Once the Creature sought out his creator he asked him to make him a bride so that way he could have someone of his own kind to be with. But Frankenstein dose give in just a little as he assembles the parts of the Bride but then in a fit of rage he makes the wrong choice and throws those parts away. His fear was that of creating a species of man that could outlive the normal human but in doing this he sealed his own fate. This was a good audio narration of the book and I do recommend it but I am also partial to the 1931 film of the same name and the follow up the Bride of Frankenstein.
