Authors Eric S. Brown & Jason Cardova bring us back to the Kaiju universe with the second book in the Kaiju Apocalypse trilogy. The colony starship Argo has returned to Earth from their failed mission to Alpha Centauri Prime. As the ship settles into orbit her cryo freezers begin to open and the command crew are awakened. One of the first things the captain dose is order only the Governor to be woken up instead of her entire cabinet. He also orders shuttles to head to one of the orbiting stations as well as one to the area where the only human life sign remains. As they begin to investigate what happened when they where away the captain learns that there was a pathogen going around the orbiting stations turning humans into Kaiju. While on the ground McCoy learns what happened and that the last human on the planet was building a weapon to destroy Earth. What happens near the end I won't say but I will say that I'm looking forward to reading the last of this trilogy just to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this trilogy to all Kaiju fans and science fiction fans too.
