Author Nnedi Okorafor brings us the tale of humanities next step to exploring space. Nasa and the other space organizations have created the first organic sublight starships known as Miri's. These ships carry seven chosen humans to explore the solar system and meet at the Lagrange point just as the title says out of Jupiter's reach. In order to make this voyage the seven of them have to give up their life on Earth for a decade. Accepting one ship which accepted her is Tornado Onwubiko who has bonded with her ship. Part of the voyage is to stop at Juipter's Lagrange point and meet up with the six other ships. Tornado meets up with Anthony first via short range communications then the other five dock their ships in a circle allowing their ships to extend their docking tubes so they could meet each other. Thus beings seven days of having people around for them of which they didn't before. That seven days brings them together in more ways than one. This is a great short story and I highly recommend it to all science fiction fans.
