Author S.R. Mallery brings us the opening tale of Gillian Good and her family. Years ago her father passed away in a car crash and she and her siblings have been raised by their human mother. Gillian's friend and mystery author Rebecca is killed but they don't know by who or why, Gillian and the lead detective on the case Nate work to find out what happened. Gillian even though she is a witch has refused to use her magic since the last time she did she didn't tell her father about his possible death and that she had used it on a boy that she had liked and it ended up ruining his life. Gillian though dose decide to begin using her magic again as she is falling for Nate. She also learns during the end of the book that she had the missing peace to the puzzle about her friends murder as well as two other author's murders. This is a great book and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book to all Charmed and Fantasy fans.
