Author Dana Gricken brings us the tale of the starship Einstein. Jan the communications officer and the ships A.I. Eve are faced with drifting in the darkness between stars. Six years have passed since they left Earth and the Einstein was stranded. The first to really feel the effects is an ensign whom looks at Jan and says that she's next. After his death Jan and the A.I. begin to investigate what but her bunk mate and the man that loves her the ships second doctor asks her to stop. Jan refuses and goes and meets with the rebellion but then the ship is suddenly attacked while the command crew is putting the A.I. on trial. Jan knows that this is wrong and she fights for her friend. I won't give away the ending. I highly recommend this book and I'm looking forward to reading more from Dana.
