Author Rysa Walker brings us a tale of Kate from another timeline and Kiernan Dunne. At the beginning of this novella both Kate and Kiernan are setting a trap for Houdini he is one of the Cyrists who are changing time. But on his way back from an audition Kiernan is struck by three thugs and his Chronos key is taken. They don't know that he has a backup and keeps it on him when the time shifts. As timeshifts he's being helped by a store owner and friend of his Jess who loses one of his granddaughters in the shift. Kiernan then is visited by Simon who tells him that once he's better he needs to head to the farm in 2030 where Cyrus will hand out assignments. Once he's ready Kiernan does go to Washington in 2030 and some of the pieces of why he was attacked as well as the whereabouts of Kate are fall into place. This is a great novella and I highly recommend this series to all science fiction fans.
