Authors William Shatner & Joshua Brandon brings us Shatner's new autobiography Boldly Go. At the start of the book we learn from Shatner's point of view on how his wife had died before he meet Elizabeth. We also learn that thanks to his assistant he can recall snipets from certain Star Trek episodes. But the last chapter is the one that really hit me. It was called After I'm Gone. In that chapter he meet with Deforest Kelly (Doctor McCoy form TOS and the first 6 films) both he and his wife where in the same hospital but while he was in better shape his wife had altimeters, a disease that I had seen effect a family member of mine first hand. He had asked her a simple question which was where was she born and she snapped at him asking him not to bring it up. She couldn't remember, he then goes on to talk about how he wants his legacy which will live on through his kids and grand kids and great-grandkids as well as Star Trek. He wants to become a tree. When he passes his family is supposed to put his ashes in a pod and planet it in his back yard with a tree on top. I didn't mention this earlier but he did talk about his few minutes in the Blue Origin capsule and how he looked up to the stars and all he saw was blackness. This is a great autobiography and I highly recommend it for all William Shatner fans and Star Trek fans alike.
