Author Rachel De Vine brings us the tale of Tommy and Archie, two friends who prior to world war 1 join England's royal army. But before Tommy done he marries Dolly a girl that he had a crush on since they first meet. 3 weeks after their weed Tom and Archie are shipped out to boot camp and then to France. Once in France, Tom meets Camille and they have a night of passion together. The moment that Tom returns to his tent he is told by Archie that they've been called to the front. I won't give away the ending but Tom would never know that he had two children by the two women that he slept with. This is a great short story about the test of love in war and I highly recommend it.
