Author Christopher Golden brings us the audible adaptation of his Alien novel River of Pain. River of Pain is the story that took place within the first twenty minutes of the film Aliens and dealt with the cut sense from the theatrical edition of the film. We also get another view of an old Dark Horse Comics doughy called Newt's Tale which this book really reminded me of. I did like how the author took certain sense from Alien and Aliens and melded them with the rest of the story which besides Newt also focuses on the arrival of the colony's Colonial Marines new commanding officer and the fact that the company would stop an nothing to get a live xenomorph (Alien). Even though this is the last of this trilogy it wets my appetite for more Alien/Predator books and maybe one day a novelization of Prometheus.The voice actors for this drama really make you believe that you're watching a film they bring life to the characters. I highly recommend this audio drama for all Alien and science fiction fans.
